Hi, and welcome to my blog,
I was born in Norway and have lived in Copenhagen since 2002. We are an international family, literally calling the world our home. Currently, I commute between Copenhagen and Dubai as my husband, who is English, lives and works in Dubai. My son was born in Copenhagen in 2003, has a Danish passport, did high school in Dubai, and is currently studying in the USA.
Food has been a significant part of my life. I grew up with a father with a high interest in food, planning our menu for the day when he woke up, browsing food stores while on holidays when the girls were shopping, reading cooking magazines and watching cooking programs on TV before it was fashionable. (There was only one program at those times, and it only aired on TV.) He was breathing, reading, and loving food. He cooked all our meals from scratch, not from ready-made or any micro-ovens in our home. This is the background of my interest in food, tasting, cooking, and reading, and I have a nice collection of utilities for my kitchen.
Foreign cultures and travel have been an interest throughout my childhood. One of my favourite books was about Amelia Earhart, the American female aviation pioneer who was the first to fly solo over the Atlantic. I could not get out to explore soon enough, and after high school, I moved to the big city at that time, the capital of Norway, to study law and, later, social anthropology. I have been exploring and travelling many continents and countries, but I have much more to see. Travel is my main interest and job, as I do PR, sales, and marketing for destinations, hotels, and cruise lines.
Self-development and learning more about how humans act and react come from pure curiosity. Why did I do as I did? Why do we react the way we do? What makes us do the things we do, and what drives us in specific directions and makes us the ones we are?
This blog is currently in English, but It will do a version in a mix of Danish /Norwegian when time allows. It is probably more for me to track what I have been doing and my thoughts from my side. But maybe it can be an inspiration for you, too. Do let me know if something resonates with you.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy it!
